Bareburger? More like.. bare-y good burger..
Okay, that was terrible. I apologize. I'll see myself out right after I do a bit of advertising for them.

The burger joint was opened by a group of entrepreneurs that got together to start up a business designed to serve good, healthy, & organic food. The first branch appeared in Astoria. The bare part of the name is a "nod to the choice to use organic ingredients free of hormones, pesticides and other unsavory elements," says in their website. This all sounds real healthy which is probably tied to being pricy (kind of like whole foods), true. However, Bareburger is completely environmentally worth it.
Their menu is composed of products that are all-natural, organic, grass-fed, free range, humanly raised sustainable, and pesticide free. Besides selling burgers they also serve sandwiches, salads, milkshakes, organic sodas, desserts, and even alcoholic beverages. You can choose from preset combinations or build your own. They recommend the best type of meat to choose for your burger. Yes, options for your meat! Aside from serving beef they offer: turkey, panko crusted chicken tenders, buttermilk fried chicken, grilled chicken, jerk chicken, black bean patty, farmers quinoa veggie patty, portabella mushroom, lamb, WILD BOAR, ELK, BISON, & OSTRICH… You heard it, O S T R I C H.

A bit too pretentious? Nope… do not dare to judge until you’ve had one of their burgers. I have sold this place to all of my friends and no one has been disappointed yet. You might think that by now I should be tired of the place but that is not the case at all. Last week after I had late lunch with a friend there I went to the bathroom and was very pleasantly surprised with their eco-friendly bathroom experience. Their hand dryer consumes half of the energy power of a regular one. The tiles on the walls are made of cork that is harvested from cork oak trees by a traditional method that allows the bark to quickly regenerate, meaning that no trees nor habitat is harmed. The best part about these tiles is that they are resistant against fire, mold, and microbial growth. To top it all off, their paper goods in the bathroom and dining room are all made from 100% recycled paper.

So... how abut some burgers to celebrate the end of a environmentally conscious semester?
